Coming from my university’s Judo club, I think that the academy, professor and other athletes have been the best group of people I’ve ever trained with for a transitioning Judoka. The timetable is really well distributed to suit my schedule and get the reps in. Been in the academy for almost 2 years now and it still feels as great as day 1. High level, professional jiu-jitsu, plenty of social events for the team to bond outside the mats, also great for keeping fit and building confidence through personal growth in each class. Something quite impressive that may not be very common, the academy has a very welcoming environment for friends and family that are not athletes, my family is always happy to come and watch whenever the chance comes up, so it’s a space suitable for every taste :) give me a shout if this helps you join the team.

A fantastic place for all ages. My son has been coming here for a couple of years now since before his 5th birthday (he is almost 7). He has ADHD and the difference in his confidence and focus is incredible.
The coaches are well informed and knowledgeable. The teaching standards are extremely high and there is a sense of family, wellbeing and commitment to the cause from both parents, those teaching and those being taught.
Professor Gareth and his team of coaches have created a great environment and fantastic place for kids to learn the art of Brazilian Jiujitsu without judgement. Everyone is made to feel welcome and everyone here is genuine.

Brilliant place, great atmosphere! My son originally started in the kids and parent class here which you can go on the mat with your child and help him gain the confidence they need at the first. After 12 months I’ve also now signed up for the adult classes, I found very quickly everyone is very happy to help each other and talk to each other regarding their experience and journey into bjj.
